We are proud to be one of the only providers in the area to offer an ionic foot bath, a foot therapy that helps restore the body's balance and energy levels by detoxing or eliminating harmful toxins and pollutants.
What are the benefits of an ionic foot bath?
There are several benefits to an ionic foot bath, including:
Relieve migraines and headaches
Improve skin condition
Increase natural energy levels
Improve sleep quality and relaxation
Boost immune system function and help fight viruses
Relieve muscle/joint pain and swelling
How does an ionic foot detox work?
An ionic foot bath combines water, salts, and a small electric current to create charged ion energy that helps promote detoxification. During the 30-minute session, the water in the tub will change color. This color change is due to oxidation of the metal plates in the tub reacting with solutes in the water, releasing toxins from the body. Over the next 24-48 hours, toxins continue to be naturally eliminated from the body through the lymphatic system (a network of tissues and organs that helps the body eliminate toxins) and the excretory system (the part of the body that excretes or removes waste).
What do the colors in an ionic foot bath mean?
Everyone's foot bath will look a little different. Some foot baths are very thick and come in a variety of colors, while others are thinner and less colorful. Patients who take foot baths regularly may notice that over time, their foot baths become less cloudy and they begin to feel better.
Depending on your specific situation and environmental exposure, you may observe the following during your treatment:
Yellow-green: indicates detoxification of the kidneys, bladder, urethra, and/or female prostate area; may indicate gynecological or prostate conditions.
Orange: indicates detoxification of joints or arteries; may indicate arthritis, gout, neuropathy, or pleurisy (inflammation of the tissue lining the lungs and chest cavity).
Brown: indicates detoxification of the liver, lungs, tobacco, or cellular debris; common in patients who smoke or have been exposed to high levels of secondhand smoke or other air pollutants.
Dark green or black: indicates detoxification of the gallbladder or liver; may be associated with gallstones, acid reflux, a weak immune system, or nausea.
Red spots: often a sign of a blood clot; may also be associated with blocked arteries, bruising, high blood pressure, or cold hands and feet.
White foam: Indicates that the lymphatic system or lymph nodes are detoxifying; may indicate menstrual irregularities, painful lymph nodes, or skin blockages caused by allergies.
Black spots: Indicates that heavy metals are being detoxified; other toxicity symptoms may include chronic fatigue or memory problems.
Who should take an ionic foot bath?
With the exception of people with ulcers or infections on their feet, almost everyone can benefit from an ionic foot bath. The human body is designed to detoxify itself. However, we are constantly bombarded with toxins, which can put extra stress on the body, causing pain and dysfunction. An ionic foot bath is a safe and effective way to help the body detoxify these stressors.
